The Bro Dad = Country Music Dads Podcast

If you’re a fan of my writing, I invite you to subscribe and give it a listen (even if you don’t like country music… yet). We’re available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Pandora, YouTube, Amazon, Overcast, iHeartRadio, or wherever you find your podcasts.

Our primary mission for the podcast aligns with my mission for The Bro Dad blog: to share relatable, real, often-comical stories about the parenting journey from my unique perspective as a stay-at-home dad. Country Music Dads expands on that mission by adding the voice of a more-experienced, wiser, and far more Country stay-at-home dad: my friend, Mick Freyermuth (of DadHouse Pod fame). If you’ve ever taken parenting advice from me, you should know that Mick is who I go to for MY parenting advice.

The podcast is also about my favorite music genre, and how that music influences my parenting. As I’ve grown deeper into my role as a father, husband, coach, and clownish Sunday School teacher, I’ve found ever deeper meaning in the simple yet profound stories that country music has to offer. Mick agrees.

And so would my late grandfather, Benjamin Brown (I think), who passed when I was two-years-old. An Oklahoma native who loved George Jones, Merle Haggard, Buck Owens, and Hank Williams, Grandpa might just be channeling his country roots through me into his great-grandsons. It’s hard to explain my late-blooming country music obsession otherwise.

I love writing and there is more for me to type about my kids, my parenting, and my country-ass roots. But for right now, a lot of those thoughts will appear in audio form on my new podcast: Country Music Dads.

Thought you should know.
